‘Exquisite’, ‘Utter class’ – Many Rangers fans blown away by ‘Sublime’ ace at HT v Hamilton

Rangers enjoyed a lightning start to their clash with Hamilton on Sunday afternoon at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard once again changed his front three, bringing back in Kemar Roofe and Jermain Defoe to hand rests to others.

Alfredo Morelos broke a European record for the Bears through the week, but his absence didn’t stop his side racing into a four-goal lead.

Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo scored either side of Roofe, but it was neither of those that got the most praise.

The experience of Defoe has really started to come into play recently, and he was at the heart of everything in the final third on Sunday.

After scoring his 300th career goal against Livingston a couple of weeks ago, Defoe turned provider for the Bears.

His reverse pass to send Ryan Kent into space for Arfield’s goal was incredible, and that was followed by his role in the second for Roofe to head home.

With so many chances popping up for the Gers, it is important that Defoe is in-and-around the box to stick them away, but his new role setting up chances seems to suit him down to a tee.

Many Rangers fans have reacted to the first-half display of Defoe on Sunday, and the majority were blown away by his effort.

Most of those fans singled out his pass in the build-up to Arfield’s goal, and it proved that among this success, the little things are being noticed massively.
