‘Ridiculous…Shocking’ – Michael Beale rages at what he’s seen at Leeds today
Rangers coach Michael Beale was left raging with a VAR decision against Leeds United in their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
The Whites saw a goal ruled out after Patrick Bamford was adjudged to have been offside, although replays showed it was just his arm.
VAR has yet to be introduced in Scotland and based on this latest example, not many will be rushing to campaign for it.
Beale took to his personal Twitter account on Saturday afternoon, saying that the decision was simply “ridiculous.”
The Bears coach even went as far to suggest that it was the worst decision he has ever seen by the VAR since its introduction.
“The people who changed the rules are ruining the game,” he wrote.
“This is ridiculous and the worst decision I’ve seen (yet!) using VAR. Nothing against Crystal Palace as I’m completely neutral – but that’s a shocking decision from the match officials.”
Looking at this, it is easy to see why Beale would go against it.
Should VAR eventually get introduced, Rangers and Steven Gerrard would have a massive to play in that, and eventually possibly a deciding vote.
What we will say, is that there isn’t one single example of where the system has been praised in the Premier League, with this Leeds goal the latest one.
There seems to be a different controversial incident every single week, and the longer it stays away from Scotland, the better.
