View: Rangers 26y/o can surely wave goodbye to Ibrox career after major update
After months of only positive news at Rangers, Monday saw that change with a disappointing major update from Ibrox.
It was revealed that the Bears had suspended duo Jordan Jones and George Edmundson after they both broke COVID-19 regulations.
The Rangers pairing attended a private gathering outside of their bubble on Sunday evening, and will now be forced into isolation ahead of an investigation at Ibrox.
It isn’t good news for Jones, in particular.
The Northern Irish winger was facing an uncertain future in Glasgow as it is, with the 26-year-old being told he can leave over the summer if the right offer came in.
Exclusive Ibrox News pundit Alex McLeish was left “surprised” by that news a couple of months ago but claimed he hasn’t shown enough to warrant his spot.
It appeared as though the winger had turned a corner after those reports over the summer, and was offered a way back into the Gers squad.
Jones started back to back games for Rangers against both Motherwell and Ross County, scoring in the first clash in a simple victory.
McLeish’s claim that he doesn’t have what it takes to regularly feature for this Rangers side has been proven right, with yet another stupid, avoidable mistake.
Gerrard consistently shares that he wants players in his squad that can stand up and be counted – afterall, they are looking to prevent Celtic from winning 10-in-a-row.
Jones hasn’t been involved in 10 league games this season, and it is clear that he isn’t in the plans of the Gers in what could be the most important campaign in recent history.
The 26-year-old can wave goodbye to his Ibrox career, as he once again proves, he doesn’t have what it takes to make a real impact in Glasgow.
