‘Killed his Rangers career’, ‘Can’t see a way back’ – Some Gers fans react to club statement
Many Rangers fans have declared Jordan Jones and George Edmundson’s Gers careers over after the Ibrox pair broke COVID-19 protocols to attend a party.
Rangers released a statement on Tuesday stating that Jones and Edmundson have both been ‘suspended pending an internal investigation’ because of their actions.
Neither player has had too much of an impact on the Gers first team this season as Jones has made four appearances this term while Edmundson has only made two.
The calls for Jones to be released follow a decent start to the season from the 26-year-old after he looked to have jump-started his Ibrox career with a goal against Motherwell earlier in the season.
Edmundson had a less positive impact in that game as he scored a late own goal, that was his only league appearance this term.
Many Gers fans have said that both players should be released by Rangers as they endangered the rest of the squad with their reckless actions.
It’s definitely rank stupidity on both players’ part there’s no excuse. At the very least they should be hit with the biggest fines possible, but we think internal discipline could go further.
Here are how some Rangers fans have reacted following the club’s statement:
Fans wait to find out if Jones and Edmundson will remain at their club but it seems that the Gers faithful won’t be too disappointed if both players are let go.
In other Rangers news, many Gers fans have heavily criticised one player despite beating Kilmarnock on Sunday.
