Charlie Adam makes prediction for Rangers v Lech Poznan, details Gerrard dilemma

Charlie Adam has predicted that Rangers will earn a comfortable win in their clash against Lech Poznan on Thursday night.

Steven Gerrard’s men are in superb form going into the second match of their Europa League group stage campaign.

Last week, the Light Blues earned a brilliant 2-0 win away at Standard Liege which was capped by a goal to remember by Kemar Roofe when he scored from his own half in stoppage time.

Rangers face Polish side Lech Poznan next and ex-Gers midfielder Adam claims that it’s a match the Glaswegians should win if they don’t change the way they’re currently playing but thinks Gerrard has a bit of a selection dilemma when it comes to naming his squad.

“Rangers are in a good place at the moment on and off the pitch, as in they’re in a clear mind as to what they want,” said Adam on PLZ Soccer’s Football Show.

“They’re focused, they’re winning football matches and when you’ve got everybody fit and available, it makes it a little bit easier.

“Now for [Gerrard] is to pick what’s going to be his strongest bench because of the number of players he’s got, he’s got to leave players out.

“The Rangers team picks itself. They made five changes at the weekend for Livingston but that was probably down to giving an opportunity to play games and you’d expect Rangers to beat Livingston.

“I wouldn’t expect Rangers to get beaten [by Lech Poznan] either. I think it’s going to be a comfortable match for them. They won’t change the way they play – they’ll sit in and counter-attack and get the job done.”

Let’s not write-off Poznan already – that would be dangerous.

But Rangers should be able to beat the Polish club after the way they dispatched Standard Liege last week with relative ease.

Gerrard’s side has built up a brilliant run of momentum in recent weeks with them still unbeaten across all competitions this season.

Wins against Celtic and Liege over the last couple of weeks before a straightforward 2-0 victory over Livingston at the weekend means that Rangers are a force to be reckoned with.

But as they’re the home team and have a fully fit squad, you’d imagine that this is very winnable.

However, again, Poznan might relish the tag of being under-dogs and that’s something Gerrard will have to be wary of.

In other Rangers news, Gerrard’s been raving about this “world-class” Gers player ahead of the meeting with Lech Poznan.
