‘Absolute howler’, ‘Rotten’ – Many Rangers fans destroy ’embarrassing’ player in win v Poznan
Rangers were frustrated for the majority of the game by Lech Poznan in their Europa League clash at Ibrox on Thursday evening.
Despite that, the Gers still managed to come away with all three points against a tough Polish side looking to hold on for a single point.
Alfredo Morelos scored the only goal of the game, on a night where getting the win was the only thing that mattered in Europe.
Steven Gerrard decided to keep the core of his side similar but did introduce the likes of Kemar Roofe in the final third in his starting XI.
That meant another start for Ianis Hagi in midfield.
The Romanian caught the eye against Livingston over the weekend, with his assist for Joe Aribo’s goal certainly him at his best.
Hagi has faced criticism this season though, with his performances nowhere near consistent enough for the Bears, and it was the same against Poznan.
The fans got their wish when Hagi was taken off for Aribo, and two minutes later, it worked – with Morelos scoring the opener.
Some Rangers fans have destroyed Hagi for his performance on Thursday, claiming that he had no right to stay on the pitch for as long as he did.
The majority also believe that the young playmaker is not good enough for the starting XI, and should be benched against Kilmarnock.
