‘Unbelievable’ – Michael Owen predicts result in Rangers clash v Lech Poznan

Michael Owen has backed Rangers to beat Lech Poznan in the Europa League on Thursday evening at Ibrox.

The Bears come into this on the back of three 2-0 victories on the bounce, including the perfect start to this group against Standard Liege last week.

Owen has predicted that this game against the Polish side will also finish 2-0, as they look to take control of Group D.

Writing in his BetVictor predictions column, Owen has claimed that the good vibes will continue at Ibrox this week.

“What a seven days it was last week for Rangers,” he wrote.

“Steven Gerrard’s side followed up their Old Firm win with a victory on the road against Standard Liege.

“Kemar Roofe certainly staked his claim for goal of the tournament with an unbelievable effort from the half-way line. Rangers go into this as favourites, and I think the good vibes at Ibrox could continue here for the Gers.”

Rangers

Rangers will definitely see this as a winnable game, and it could see them take control of the group ahead of their toughest game on paper – Benfica away next week.

The Portuguese side did struggle against Poznan last week though and needed two goals in the final half an hour in order to sweep them aside.

It will be interesting to see which side Steven Gerrard selects, with Kemar Roofe’s wonder strike last week surely putting him in contention for the game.

Poznan are currently struggling in their league, and are sitting in 10th – not what they are used too and something the Bears should take advantage of.
