Ibrox View: Gerrard to drop 24y/o in 3 key changes – Predicted Rangers starting XI v Lech Poznan
Rangers host Lech Poznan on Thursday night as they look to extend their unbeaten record in all competitions this season.
Rangers are in fantastic form, six points clear at the top of the Premiership after only conceding three goals.
However, there are new challenges all the time. Rangers have to win their first Europa League group game without fans at Ibrox on Thursday night.
And Poznan will be no pushovers even if Rangers are favourites to win the game.
Then it’s onto Killie on Sunday where the surface will be the biggest threat to the Rangers record.
For Gerrard, it’s all a balancing act now. He needs to keep the momentum going, winning games, while making sure his squad can cope with the gruelling Thursday/Sunday timetable.
The good news is that he’s got an abundance of striker options and we think Alfredo Morelos will come back in on Thursday after being rested in the 2-0 win against Livingston.
Jermain Defoe came in then and scored a brilliant goal after Kemar Roofe scored his wonder goal last Thursday.
Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara should come back into midfield for Steven Davis and 24-year-old Joe Aribo, and while it’s possible Ryan Kent could be rested, we think he’ll start the game. He’s a huge player for Gerrard and we think a win Thursday is important enough for him to start on the left-wing.
This is the side that we think will get the next win in what’s proving to be a very dominant season.
