Leeds & Dortmund want to sign int’l Rangers ace dubbed ‘Fantastic’ by BBC pundit – report

Leeds United are among a number of clubs who are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, according to TeamTalk.

Kamara, 24, has been in outstanding form for the Light Blues this season with Steven Gerrard’s side currently top of the Scottish Premiership table and making a winning start to their Europa League group stage campaign.

Last week, BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus told PLZ Soccer’s Football Show that Kamara was “absolutely fantastic” in their 2-0 win against Celtic in the Old Firm derby and that “Rangers would get serious money for him” if clubs came in for him in the near future.

And based on TeamTalk’s report, there’s every possibility of that happening.

TeamTalk claims that Leeds, Everton, Southampton, Monaco, Lille and Borussia Dortmund have all watched over Kamara in the last few weeks.

Burnley, Brighton, Newcastle, Sheffield United and Brentford are also admirers while Dinamo Moscow and Dynamo Kiev were interested in the Finland international in the summer.

Based on this update, almost every club in England is interested in Kamara as well as some big clubs on the continent.

But we’re not concerned about Kamara’s future at all.

Even though this report rubbishes Barry Ferguson’s claim on Open Goal that the ex-Dundee midfielder “never gets mentioned” when people praise Rangers’ midfielders, Steven Gerrard has made it clear that he’s trying to get Kamara tied down to a new contract.

Last week, the Rangers manager was quoted by the Daily Record as saying: “I’ve made my feelings known to Ross [Wilson] and the board on that situation.

“We want Glen around us for as long as possible and everyone knows my feelings on that situation.”

Kamara’s playing every week, is playing in Europe, has established himself in the Finland international team, helped Finland qualify for Euro 2021 and is in the hunt for major silverware at Ibrox this season.

If he’s going to leave, we’re sure it won’t happen in January and if Gerrard can get the board to tie the midfielder down to a new deal, there’s a good chance he won’t leave next summer too.

But, if he does, you’d expect Rangers to demand a massive fee for a player who cost them just £50,000 last year.
