‘Second best’ – Kenny Dalglish backs Celtic & Neil Lennon to hit back at Rangers

Sir Kenny Dalglish has backed Celtic to bounce back after losing control of the Scottish League to Rangers this season.

Rangers went six points clear of their fierce rivals on Sunday after their 2-0 win over Livingston at Ibrox.

Many have called for Neil Lennon to lose his job after going three without a win, with fears that the Bears are running away with the league.

Rangers

Dalglish admitted that Rangers are the best team in Scotland right now, but believes his former side can bounce back this season.

“On current form, if you take it strictly by figures, obviously no, Rangers have had better results than them,” he told Sky Sports.

“They’re second best. He won’t settle for that, he’ll certainly want to be back there and back there winning.”

Rangers

Rangers have sent fear into the heart of Celtic ever since they eased to victory in the Old Firm derby last week at Parkhead.

Former players and pundits were sent into panic even further on Sunday, as the Hoops drew 3-3 against Aberdeen, extending the gap even further.

The league is well and truly in Rangers’ hands right now, and talk of Lennon being relieved of his duty is clearly brought along by that fact.

If Celtic were top of the league, none of this would be happening, but the Gers have strengthened superbly this season and that is reflecting in these recent results.

Game on.
