Despite Kemar Roofe’s world-class finish at Standard Liege, it is hard to imagine if he could have so effortlessly of finished off that volley on Sunday.
Gerrard rarely puts a foot wrong in his management of the Gers, and he once again made all the right calls as Rangers once again extended their lead at the top.
Defoe and Gerrard have played together before earlier in their careers, and that link-up is clearly working, with the veteran forward delivering despite his lack of action recently.
Squad depth has been an issue in the past at Ibrox, and with Alfredo Morelos struggling recently, it is great to see others stepping up.
