‘Atrocious’ – Many Rangers fans blast one player v Liege at HT, ‘Million miles behind the rest’

Rangers fans have blasted centre-forward Alfredo Morelos for his first-half performance against Standard Liege on Thursday night.

Morelos, 24, has been widely criticised for his performances over the course of 2020 and has done little to win over supporters with his opening 45 minutes against Liege in the opening Europa League group stage match in Belgium.

Morelos was slammed for drifting offside, lacking pace and generally looking nowhere near the player he was in 2019 before the intense speculation surrounded his future at Ibrox.

Even though the transfer window has been closed for a while now, Morelos’ performances have not shown any sign of improving.

And Rangers fans have made that very clear at half-time on Twitter, with one calling the Colombia international’s passing ability “atrocious“.

Morelos needs a goal in the second half.

He’s been able to find the back of the net five times in all competitions this season for the Light Blues but he has to do more than score goals every now and then.

At the moment, the likes of Ryan Kent and James Tavernier are putting Morelos to shame because not only are they scoring, they are performing above and beyond expectations.

Morelos is clearly going backwards and he needs to put that right himself otherwise he’ll start to drift out of Steven Gerrard’s starting line-up more and more regularly.

Gerrard has plenty of other forwards at his disposal and Kemar Roofe is getting closer to returning from his injury.

In other Rangers news, Gerrard has spoken with the board about the future of this Gers star.
