Barry Ferguson blown away by Rangers player who ‘Never gets mentioned’
Barry Ferguson has suggested that Glen Kamara doesn’t get the credit he deserves for his performances for Rangers.
Kamara, 24, has been one of the Gers’ best players this season but as he isn’t someone who gets among the goals by scoring or getting assists, he’s usually over-looked when it comes to giving him praise.
Rangers-mad actor Stephen Purdon has recently shown an example of this by questioning the SPFL’s decision to not name Kamara in their team of the week for his display in the 2-0 win against Celtic on Saturday.
Speaking on Open Goal’s YouTube channel, Ferguson has claimed that all of Rangers’ midfielders get more praise than Kamara does.
“Davo [Steven Davis], you know what you get with Davo. Arfield was out of the team at the start of the season and since he’s come into the team he’s been one of Rangers’ best players,”
“But Kamara, for £50,000… technically, really good on the ball but his work-rate as well.
“He never gets mentioned. No one mentions Kamara. It’s always [Ryan] Jack, Davo, Arfield [Joe] Aribo, which rightly-so, they’re good players.”
We’re massive fans on Kamara but so is every other Rangers fan and people are starting to talk about the Finland international more and more.
Earlier this week, Tam McManus told PLZ Soccer’s Football Show that Rangers would get “serious money” for the ex-Dundee man if he’s able to keep up the current form he’s found himself in.
Arfield called it the “biggest steal of the century” when Rangers snatched Kamara from Dens Park for £50,000 and that fee still seems like a major bargain now.
Ferguson might want Kamara to get more praise but we’re happy for the Finnish midfielder to continue going under the radar at Ibrox because it means that there is going to be less transfer speculation about him in the media.
And, as we’ve seen with Alfredo Morelos, speculation can turn the most in-form players into someone who drags the whole side down.
In other Rangers news, McManus has told Celtic fans to get their heads out of the sand over the Gers.
