Andy Walker shares what he & Ally McCoist were baffled by in Rangers 2-0 win v Celtic

Andy Walker has revealed that he and Ally McCoist were baffled by the lack of commitment shown by Celtic in their 2-0 defeat to Rangers at Parkhead on Saturday.

Celtic have been widely criticised since suffering their second consecutive home defeat to Steven Gerrard’s side at the weekend, which saw the Light Blues move four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table thanks to two goals by Connor Goldson.

Neil Lennon was missing several first-team players for the Old Firm but Rangers were not at full strength either with none of Ryan Jack, Joe Aribo or Kemar Roofe starting at Celtic Park.

Walker does not think that the Bhoys’ selection issues were the real reason they lost on Saturday and claims he and McCoist thought it was down to the players’ attitude.

“I agree on paper there’s plenty of options for the manager in every position but you can only describe the squad as strong if they are totally committed and focused,” said Walker on the Sky Sports website.
