‘Rangers would get serious money’ – Pundit makes transfer claim about £50k Ibrox ace
Ex-Hibernian striker Tam McManus believes Rangers would get “serious money” for midfielder Glen Kamara if he’s able to maintain his current run of form.
Kamara, 24, has been one of the stand-out players for the Gers this season, playing a key role in them reaching the Europa League group stages and holding a four-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
During the recent international break, Teemu Pukki said, as quoted by the Daily Record, that he can see his Finland team-mate playing in the Premier League at some stage in his career.
And McManus believes that if Kamara was to leave Ibrox any time soon, the former Dundee and Arsenal man will fetch the Light Blues a good transfer fee.
“He was absolutely fantastic. He was so composed on the ball, he’s a terrific footballer,” McManus said on PLZ Soccer’s Football Show on Monday.
“When you look at him – he’s obviously playing for Finland as well – Rangers would get serious money for him if he keeps playing the way he’s playing. There’s no doubt about it.
“He’s so composed. He’s never rushed, he’s never flustered, he keeps the ball, he plays great one-twos into the box. I was really impressed with him at Easter Road when Rangers played Hibs.
“I thought he was the best player on the park [versus Celtic]. Kamara was outstanding. He ran the show for Rangers so they’ve got a real asset on their hands at Ibrox.”
Kamara joined Rangers for £50,000 from Dundee last January.
A few months after that deal was done, Scott Arfield was quoted by the Daily Record as saying the Finland international’s acquisition was the “biggest steal of the century”.
And with Kamara continuing to impress for both Rangers and Finland, the midfielder has only continued to back up Arfield’s claim.
We don’t want to even think about Kamara leaving Glasgow any time soon but if Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent can be linked with moves away, so can Kamara.
He is one of the most underrated players in the Scottish Premiership because people outside of Govan don’t talk about him anywhere near as much as they should.
But we’re happy with that. We’re happy for Kamara to keep going under the radar and helping Rangers win their first Scottish Premiership title since 2010/11.
In other Rangers news, McManus has told Celtic fans to get their heads out of the sand over the Gers.
