Kenny Miller claims Rangers were handed upperhand hours before Celtic win
Kenny Miller has claimed that Rangers could have been given the upperhand ahead of their 2-0 win against Celtic on Saturday afternoon.
Neil Lennon was left furious after his side surfaced online hours before the Old Firm derby, although Miller claimed it wouldn’t have been one of his players.
Two goals from Conor Goldson either side of half-time gave the Bears all three points, and they deserved the win regardless of any leaks.
Miller claimed Steven Gerrard could have seen the leak and been informed of any potential changes to the formation or personnel.
“These things happen, if there actually is a leak I would seriously doubt if it was any of the players,” he said via the Daily Record.
“If he has an idea as to how it has got out it will be so disappointing because these things can be so vital.
“But if you’ve had that opportunity to prepare for it and it is something different – i.e. formation changes – it maybe gave Rangers a bit of a heads up and an opportunity to prepare for what they would be facing.”
It appears that every possible excuse under the sun has been thrown out by anyone involved at Celtic after Saturday’s game.
This latest one is ludicrous. Rangers have found the right formula and haven’t made many changes all season, so Lennon would have had a strong incline what side he would be facing too.
It will be hard for the Green halve of Glasgow to admit they were second best, and that they were dominated, but the truth hurts.
Goldson has even admitted himself that the Gers side didn’t believe the leak either, so it can’t have had too much of an impact on their preparation after all – better excuses are needed.
