Ibrox View: Neil Lennon agent embarrasses himself with Twitter meltdown after Rangers 2-0 win

Rangers swatted Celtic aside on Saturday in a really comfortable Old Firm win at Celtic Park but not everyone on their side took it on the chin.

The 2-0 win couldn’t have been more comfortable and some bookies have now made Rangers odds-on favourites for the Premiership after the game.

It shows just how far Steven Gerrard has brought this Rangers side and he’s created a squad with real depth and a starting XI that’s easily the best in Scotland at the moment.

However, that wasn’t the view of everyone after Saturday’s win, including Neil Lennon’s agent Martin Reilly.

After sending out a good luck message ahead of the game, Reilly spent the weekend arguing with Celtic fans after it all went wrong.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers “outclassed” Celtic and some Hoops fans started calling for Lennon’s head.

Reilly didn’t like that one bit and set about taking them all-on in an embarrassing display for an agent.

One Celtic fan said that Reilly was just sticking up for his client and said, “If you were a real Celtic man you would know SG has done him tactically over the last couple of fixtures. This has been a long time coming. Today was a shambles.”

Reilly replied saying, “What do you know about tactics. Nothing to do with that. Team was light. His hand was tied. Go back to chin-stroking.”

Reilly kept putting out the same line, that it was nothing to do with Lennon’s tactics and all about the players that Celtic were missing – despite the home side not actually recording a shot on target all game.

He then asked the Celtic fans to stop behaving like “spoilt kids”.

But, credit to the Celtic fans, they weren’t having any of it.

One said, “That is the biggest cop out ever and you know it. No tactic, no plan, griffiths and Ajeti left on the bench, midfield overrun the last 4 games against them, Gerrard has Lennons number at the moment and if you cant admit that then its blind loyalty.”

Reilly just accused him of being “stupid”.

We don’t think Lennon will be that happy Reilly is out on Twitter dismantling Celtic fans who obviously have valid criticisms of their manager at the moment.

The sign of a good manager is being able to deal with injuries or suspensions and putting out a side that can cope with the opposition.

Celtic were missing a few players but still had a side that should have been able to put up a fight.

Instead, they meekly surrendered the points and the Celtic fans above saw it.

One said Lennon “is out of his depth” and said the “sooner he’s gone from the club the better!”

It’s a full-blown meltdown from Reilly and Rangers fans will be absolutely loving it.
