Lovenkrands slams Rangers player after Celtic win, backs Gerrard to ‘have another word’

Peter Lovenkrands has slammed Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos for his antics in the Old Firm derby against Celtic.

The Colombian was caught slapping Scott Brown on the head, and although it was harmless, there were many suggesting he should have seen red.

Lovenkrands suggested that if he was Steven Gerrard, he would be organising a meeting with the South American to put an end to these “silly” antics.

Lovenkrands claimed that it won’t be long until Morelos is once again being shown a red card for Rangers this season.

“He’s proven that a couple of times over the season and last season as well with his cards, getting involved in these silly things,” he told Sky Sports.

“Scott Brown is playing a tactical game with him, he knows he can wind him up.

“Yeah, he had a thing when he flicks out and hits him on his ear – this is things he needs to get out of his game, he needs to start getting that away from him.

“For Steven Gerrard as well, to worry about something like that is not good. If I was the manager and I was Steven Gerrard, I would certainly have another word with him.”

Morelos wasn’t cautioned for his slap on Brown but did later on go on to pick up another yellow card in the Old Firm before being taken off.

It was another frustrating afternoon for the Colombian, who continued his poor record of not scoring against Celtic.

The 24-year-old failed to have a single shot on goal, and was dispossessed twice according to WhoScored – he must improve quickly.
