Odds shift dramatically for Rangers clash v Celtic after confirmed news
The odds on Rangers winning in today’s game against Celtic have shifted dramatically after the team news was confirmed.
There’s no Odsonne Edouard for Celtic and 20-year-old centre-back Stephen Welsh makes just his second appearance for the club.
Meanwhile, Alfredo Morelos starts for Rangers and will be looking for his first goal against Celtic.
The confirmed teams were announced ahead of the 12.30pm kick-off on Twitter.
And the bookies definitely think that it’s advantage Rangers in the game at Celtic Park.
Incredibly, Celtic are bigger than 2/1 with some bookies to win at their home ground.
Two big bookies have priced them at 21/10 to win, with Rangers as short as 13/10 to come back with all three points.
It’s the first time that we can ever remember Celtic being this big to win at Celtic Park in the Premiership.
That’s a dramatic shift from when the bookies couldn’t separate the two sides before the team news filtered out.
A win for Rangers would see them record back-to-back Old Firm wins for the first time since 2009, after the 2-1 win last time out back in last December.
It would also see them increase their lead at the top of the Premiership to four points.
The Rangers players won’t be taking anything for granted today but they’ll know this is a fantastic chance to put a marker down and show they’re the best side in Scotland at the moment.
The lack of a crowd at Celtic Park will play into Rangers’ hands too. It’s all set up for a triumphant afternoon in Glasgow.
