‘Stacked in Rangers favour’ – Sutton predicts Old Firm favourites, shares verdict on officials

Chris Sutton has claimed everything is stacked in Rangers favour ahead of the Old Firm derby with Celtic on Saturday.

John Beaton has been confirmed as the man in the middle at Parkhead, much to the disappointment of Sutton and the Celtic fans.

The last Old Firm clash Beaton officiated was the 1-0 victory for the Gers at Ibrox back in 2018 where Ryan Jack scored the winner.

Sutton claimed that with the numerous injuries that Celtic have, Rangers could have the upperhand in this massive clash.

“I’m looking forward to the big match,” he said via the Daily Record.

“It’s all stacked in Rangers’ favour, the injuries to Celtic and Rangers, of course, have their favourite referee.”

This will have hurt Sutton, who can’t help himself but throw digs at Rangers when they are performing well – maybe he isn’t predicting much from the home side.

Celtic have a number of injury problems, but so do the Gers, with Steven Gerrard casting doubt over the fitness of both Joe Aribo and Kemar Roofe.

This is a massive clash, there is no understating that. Whichever side picks up the three points will take control of the league at this early stage.

Rangers are currently one point ahead of Celtic with a game-in-hand, and a win tomorrow would see them open up a four-point gap only 11 games in.

We can’t wait to see Sutton’s reaction tomorrow should the Bears pick up the win.
