Charlie Adam hits back at fan after Rangers player is blasted for int’l performance

Charlie Adam has hit back at a supporter who blasted Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack for his performance in Scotland’s 1-0 win against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Jack, 28, played a vital role in a big win for the Tartan Army, who moved four points clear at the top of their UEFA Nations League group thanks to Ryan Fraser’s early goal.

Rangers ace Jack played all 90 minutes of the victory and although he was widely praised by his performance – even by one Celtic fan – there’s always one who cannot see past rivalries when it comes to international football.

An Aberdeen-based Liverpool fan (work that one out) tweeted on Wednesday night to say that Jack is the “worst player” he’s ever seen play for Scotland.

Plenty of Rangers fans hit back at the claim, including ex-Gers midfielder Adam, who took to his personal Twitter account to say: “Are you sure?”

There has been a lot of dross play for Scotland over the years but we cannot get behind an opinion which claims Jack is the “worst” ever.

It just goes to show that some fans will have it in for players no matter how well they play, just because of where their club allegiance lies.

And that could be why the Scottish national team has not qualified for a major international tournament since 1998.

Let’s face it, the only reason we’re close to qualifying for Euro 2021 next summer is because of how many teams can qualify for it now.

It’s been a very long route just to get to this final play-off match against Serbia.

Opinions like this just shows that Scotland will struggle to progress unless people start seeing rival players for what they are.
