‘MOTM’, ’10/10′ – Many fans react to Rangers player int’l display on Sunday

Rangers and Northern Ireland supporters have been taking to Twitter to react to Jordan Jones’ performance against Austria on Sunday night.

Jones, 25, played all 90 minutes as the Green and White Army saw their winless streak extended to six matches and stay bottom of their Nations League group.

Michael Gregoritsch scored the only goal of the game at Windsor Park on Sunday night when he found the back of the net in the 42nd minute.

And the scoreline was definitely a fair one, with Northern Ireland attempting just three shots at goal, with just one being on target, throughout the whole game compared to Austria having 13 shots, five on target, and having 57 per cent of the possession.

Some Rangers fans tuned in to watch Jones and Steve Davis play the match and offered their thoughts on the former Kilmarnock winger.

Northern Ireland supporters also offered their views on the winger on Twitter and, as you can see, the opinions about Jones are rather mixed with one calling him the man of the match and another dubbing him as “abysmal”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Jones has started to feature more regularly for Steven Gerrard’s side in the last few weeks with him coming off the bench to play a role in the Europa League win over Willem II, as well as starting back-to-back Scottish Premiership wins over Motherwell and Ross County.

Up next for Rangers is a huge trip to Celtic for the first Old Firm derby of the season.

While we doubt Jones will start that match, stats by WyScout do suggest he played a decent match on Sunday.

Jones completed five of the eight dribbles he attempted, had a pass accuracy of 79 per cent and won four fouls.

Northern Ireland were poor on Sunday but Jones did at least show his worth with a solid display on the wing.

In other Rangers news, this Gers player could return from a lengthy injury blow against Celtic this weekend.
