‘Fantastic’ – Lovenkrands delighted with Ryan Kent development, makes bold SPFL claim
Peter Lovenkrands has labelled Rangers winger Ryan Kent as the best player in Scottish football.
The Gers legend admitted that the former Liverpool youngster has improved his final product this season, something which has seen him improve ten-fold.
Kent famously scored the winner at Celtic Park last season, as the Bears sealed a 2-1 victory which led to great celebrations on the pitch.
Lovenkrands backed Kent for success against Celtic, drawing comparisons from his own joy in the Old Firm games in his career.
“Kent is the best player in Scottish football this season,” he told the Daily Record.
“No-one is doing what he’s doing right now. He started the season in fantastic form, scoring goals and his end product has got better.
“Every time he gets the ball it looks like Rangers will create or score a goal. When I was on a good run against Celtic, I felt I would score in every game against them.”
Kent has scored four and assisted two goals this season in his 10 appearances, and has been in electric form at Ibrox.
The 23-year-old has been much more effective in the final third and takes almost four touches in the opposing box in each game according to WyScout.
Steven Gerrard has handed Kent a free-roaming role when the Gers are in possession, and that has seen him thrive and earn praise from not just Lovenkrands.
Kent scored in the win at Parkhead last season, and it wouldn’t surprise us if he did the same in this campaign – fingers crossed.
