‘I will decide’ – Key Rangers talent claims he will resolve Ibrox future in ‘next few days’

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has claimed that he will make a decision in the “next few days”.

The Colombian striker is currently away on international duty, but has been at the centre of widespread transfer speculation for much of the summer.

At one stage, it was even reported that he had agreed a deal to join French outfit Lille.

Evidently, a move failed to materialise for the 24-year-old, but that hasn’t stopped from delivering a cryptic update on his situation in Glasgow.

As quoted by Colombian outlet Antena 2, he said: “I have to keep scoring goals and do things well.

“I am happy for this beautiful opportunity to be in the national team.

“I will decide what will happen in the future in Rangers in the next few days.

“I have been consistent with Rangers, I have scored several goals, and I want to make a difference, to do things well here in the national team.”

What do Morelos’ comments mean?

Honestly, at this point, it’s all a bit of a mystery.

As we all know, the vast majority of global transfer markets shut on October 5th.

One that remains open until October 25th, however, is that of the Qatar Stars League.

According to the Daily Record, cash-rich Al-Duhail are considering a move to take Morelos to the Middle East, and have almost a fortnight to get a deal over the line.

It has long been understood that the South American would much prefer a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues, but the Qatari side believe the lure of a potential fast-track into PSG’s squad in the future could be enough to tempt him into a switch.

How Rangers would feel about such a move remains to be seen, however.

Even if they were to secure a handsome sum for one of their star assets, they have barely anywhere to spend it until January.

It’s hard to see Steven Gerrard or the board acquiescing to such an agreement, but that doesn’t mean that it couldn’t happen.

In other Rangers news, Mauricio Pochettino left raving about this Gers star man.
