‘Dreadful’, ‘Horrendous’ – Many int’l fans blast Rangers player for ‘stinking’ display on Thurs

Many Scotland fans have taken to social media to slam Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack for his display against Israel on Thursday evening.

Steve Clarke’s men played out a dull 0-0 draw in their European Championship qualifier at Hampden Park – and had to rely on a penalty shootout to scrape through – but the Gers ace did little to endear himself to supporters of the national team.

Of course, as an Ibrox favourite, Jack always face an uphill battle when he pulls on an international jersey.

Whether it be petty Celtic fans or spurned supporters from his old club Aberdeen, there is always going a plethora of armchair pundits frothing at the mouth to scrutinise him.

In fairness though, he really didn’t pull up any trees on Thursday.

This was a lacklustre display across the board from Scotland, and Jack didn’t look his usual efficient self in midfield.

So far this term, the Ibrox ace has recorded a pass completion rate of 91.8%, as per Wyscout.

That figure is no fluke either, with his average from last season standing at 91%.

But this display was far beneath that level, and it was little surprise to see him taken off five minutes or so before the end.

Still, if we’re being completely honest, we’re not too bothered by his forgettable display.

What matters to us above all else is that Old Firm on October 17th, and seeing Jack come through this one unscathed is as much of a boost as anything for watching Gers.
