Rangers player who fails to impress in training known to overeat when away – Athletic journo

Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos “is not the most impressive trainers” and is known to overeat when away from the club, according to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell.

Writing on The Athletic website, Campbell reports that the 24-year-old forward “is known to perhaps overindulge in some of his native cuisine”.

Morelos spent the coronavirus-enforced break in football in Colombia and there were suggestions – that have since been rubbished – that he was overweight after returning to Glasgow.

It is understood that his former club HJK Helsinki tried to change his diet as a result while it remains to be seen how Rangers are trying to manage someone who is failing to impress both on the pitch and off it at the moment.

Almost ever since he arrived at Ibrox in 2017, there has been speculation surrounding Morelos’ future at the club.

Constantly hearing about clubs in the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Serie A wanting to sign you must be hard when you know you could head to one of Europe’s top leagues to earn more money but Morelos’ attitude, at times, has been very disappointing.

Rangers

In 2020, the Colombia international’s form has been woeful compared to his form in 2019.

He’s also been sent off seven times in his time at Rangers – and admittedly could have been shown more red cards for petulant incidents.

And then you have these reports emerging about his professionalism at training and away training, which is suggesting to us that the player probably should’ve been sold to Lille in the summer when they came calling.

In other Rangers news, an “act of God” has handed the Gers a major boost.
