‘Masterclass from our DOF’, ‘Outstanding’: Many Rangers fans thrilled by player transfer report

Rangers fans are delighted with the club as they reportedly close in on a deal for Amiens and South Africa midfielder Bongani Zungu.

Football magazine KickOff has reported that Zungu, 27, is on his way to Glasgow to undergo a medical before signing on a season-long loan for the Light Blues.

It is understood that personal terms have been agreed with the South Africa international, who has been out of favour at Amiens in the opening weeks of this season.

Zungu was linked with a move to Ibrox earlier in the transfer window but speculation has revived just hours before the deadline at midnight tonight.

He hadn’t started any Ligue 2 matches for Ligue 2 this season until he started in the defeat to SM Caen on Saturday.

But that could have been his final appearance for the French club with him now reportedly closing in on a deal to join Rangers on loan.

Zungu’s contract at Amiens expires next summer so the Gers would be able to offer him a pre-contract deal as early as January, which isn’t that far away now due to the elongated transfer window we’re about to see end.

Zungu’s proposed arrival means a new midfielder will join Steven Gerrard’s ranks at Ibrox and a lot of fans are excited by that on Twitter.
