
‘World-beater’ – Rangers Exclusive: Alex McLeish reacts to transfer report on ‘wonderful’ player

Alex McLeish has claimed that reported Rangers target Tom Ince has the potential to be a “world-beater”.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the former Gers boss suggested that the 28-year-old is a “wonderful” player who may just need some reassurance restore his confidence.
A recent report from TEAMtalk suggested that Steven Gerrard’s men could be looking to make a late swoop for the attacker, who has been told that he will be able to leaved current side Stoke City on loan if a suitable offer comes in before the transfer deadline.
And McLeish has been quick to extoll the player’s virtues.
Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “Looking at Tom’s career, he always seems to show in certain moments that he’s going to be world beater.
“It’s just that consistency thing. It would be great to see him finally cementing some consistency, putting his great skills to good use over a sustained period of time.
“Sometimes you don’t know what a player’s mental attitude is. Sometimes they don’t have the confidence.
“But seeing the things Tom’s done in the game and what he’s capable of, then he has to empower himself and listen to the good praise he’s been getting over the years as a wonderful little football player.”
Ince has failed to make a single appearance for the Potters so far this season.
Last term he registered three goals and two assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
