‘9/10’, ‘MOTM’ – Many Rangers fans wowed by one ‘Outstanding’ player in 2-0 win v Ross County
Rangers fans were blown away by how well James Tavernier played in the 2-0 win against Ross County at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
Tavernier, 28, scored his eighth goal of the season in the first half when he tucked away a penalty that was won by strike Alfredo Morelos.
The former Newcastle right-back has been in stunning goalscoring form since the start of the new campaign with only Hibernian’s Kevin Nisbett [6] scoring more Scottish Premiership goals than him [5] this term.
Although a lot of Tavernier’s goals have come from the penalty spot, there’s no denying that the defender adds an abundance of quality in all areas.
Not only has he improved his defensive game, but Tavernier is also creating plenty of chances having assisted four goals in his 13 appearances across all competitions this term.
It was a bit of a dull display by Steven Gerrard’s side on Sunday as they beat Ross County.
However, winning matches when you’re not playing at your best is how champions are made.
But one player who was, once again, at his best was Tavernier and loads of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on the captain’s display versus the Staggies.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

It will be interesting to see whether or not Tavernier can keep up this run of goalscoring but that is bound to depend on how many penalties Rangers win in their upcoming matches.
Tavernier is able to score from open-play but the penalties are crucial to his abnormal goalscoring statistics for a right-back.
