‘Love watching this boy’ – Craig Moore and Si Ferry claim Rangers ace is in ‘form of his life’

Craig Moore and Si Ferry have lavished praise on Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield.

The Canada international was on the scoresheet again in midweek as he struck in the vital Europa League qualification win over Galatasaray.

That goal was his third in four matches, and Moore believes that his ability contribute a threat from midfield makes him a very useful asset.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: “Arfield, I love watching this boy. He’s got a desperation to get into the box and score goals.

“He’s probably the only midfielder in the side who can do that.

“I thought it was a really, really positive performance.”

Ferry agreed with the Australian, adding: “He’s in the form of his life.”

How good has Arfield been this season?

Quite simply, he has been magnificent.

The 31-year-old started the season on the bench, but with three goals and three assists in his last four matches, he is beginning to look nothing short of undroppable.

His assist for Jordan Jones last weekend was so good that James McFadden called it “sensational”, while Steven Naismith argued that a player like Arfield is “the best thing that a manager could have”.

Given his stunning run of form in recent matches, it’s becoming increasingly hard to argue with that point of view.

Joe Aribo’s current injury absence looked as if it could have been a sobering blow for the Gers, but thanks to the experienced Arfield, it looks to be one they have absorbed with ease.
