Ibrox View: Europa hero axed as Gerrard makes big change – Predicted Gers XI v Ross County

Rangers welcome Ross County to Ibrox on Sunday in a return to league action, following their European heroics in mid-week.

Steven Gerrard has confirmed that no one picked up any injuries in his side’s 2-1 win over Galatasaray on Thursday night.

The Gers boss also said he won’t make ‘wholesale’ changes to his side to take on Ross County, as ‘it is another important game’.

Rangers were very impressive against Turkish side Galatasaray, with Scott Arfield and James Tavernier scoring the vital goals that took the Gers into the Europa League group stage.

The news that there are no fresh injuries, and with Gerrard highlighting the importance of the game, this may mean that the Gers boss elects for an unchanged team on Sunday. Which is what we are predicting.

McGregor should keep his place in goal following impressive outings against Willem II and Galatasaray in the Europa League, and against Motherwell last weekend.

The back four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic should retain their places. Though after an impressive performance against Motherwell last time out we could see Calvin Bassey in place of Barisic.

The midfield three of Scott Arfield, Glen Kamara and Steven Davis should stay the same.

The one change we think Gerrard could make is bringing Jordan Jones back in for Ianis Hagi, with Alfredo Morelos leading the line once again.

Performances in the Motherwell game will give Gerrard a selection headache, with Cedric Itten also playing well, scoring a brace. But we think Gerrard will stick with this team in a bid to secure a home win and keep up the charge to the title.

This is the side we think Gerrard will put out on Sunday…
