‘Oh my god’, ‘On his way’ – Many Rangers fans convinced player is signing after fresh Insta post

Rangers fans are convinced that reported target Bongani Zungu is on the move after his latest Instagram post.

According to The Scotsman, the Gers have reopened talks for the 27-year-old South Africa international after a potential deal collapsed earlier in the summer.

And Zungu has thrown further fuel on the fire with his social media activity.

The Amiens midfielder took to Instagram on Wednesday to post a story of he and two of his teammates dancing in a dressing room alongside a cryptic caption that read: “I’ll miss you my bros”.

For obvious reasons, Gers supporters immediately jumped all over this, and there is now a strong contingent online who are absolutely convinced that a deal is in the offing.

After a little further digging, it would seemingly appear that it is indeed Zungu who is most likely to be leaving out of the trio in the clip too.

Nicholas Opoku is on loan at Amiens from Udinese, and is due to stay at the Ligue 2 club until June of next year.

The Ghanian has even made four appearances already this season.

Likewise, Chadrac Akolo only signed for the club in July for a fee of £3.15 million, so it seems incredibly unlikely that he would be packing his bags just yet.

With that in mind, Zungu could well be headed for pastures new.

There are, however, two caveats to this potential deal.

Firstly, Steven Gerrard has made it clear that any further transfer business in the final week of the window could be depended on whether or not his side qualify for the Europa League when they face Galatasaray on Thursday evening.

In short, if they don’t, the deal could be off.

Secondly, Rangers aren’t the only team in for Zungu, with Olympiacos and a number of Spanish clubs also said to be interested in the player.

Only time will tell, but this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
