‘Doesn’t look good’ – WWE champion Drew McIntyre delivers transfer verdict on key Rangers talent
WWE champion Drew McIntyre has claimed that the likelihood of his beloved Rangers keeping hold of star asset Alfredo Morelos this transfer window “doesn’t look good”.
The Colombian has been heavily linked with a move away from Ibrox over the summer, with Sky Sports even going as far as to suggest that he had already agreed a deal with French outfit Lille at one stage.
Needless to say, nothing ever came of that speculation, and McIntyre is very eager to see the 24-year-old stay in Glasgow to help the Gers prevent Celtic from winning a dreaded tenth consecutive league title.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the superstar said: “It would be really nice to keep Morelos.
“I don’t like everything I’ve been hearing. It doesn’t look good to be honest, but I think we’ve got to do everything we can to keep him.
“He’s such a difference-maker. When he’s on form, there’s nobody quite like him.
“I think we’ll be good one way or another, but man, we have to stop 10. We have to!”
Will Morelos stay?
This has been the million dollar question all summer long, and while McIntyre might not be overly confident, we’re beginning to think that there might be a chance.
Don’t get us wrong, if we’d been asked a month ago we would have put our houses on him being away before that transfer deadline passes next week.
But the closer we get to October 5th, the more it feels as if there is a chance he could stay put.
And we’re not the only ones.
Charlie Adam recently told BBC Sportsound that he believes Morelos will still be a Rangers player come the end of the window, and if that is the case – and if we can get him properly up and running again in front of goal – what a coup it would be for the Gers.
