‘Massive’ – Sky Sports pundit hypes up Rangers player, claims he was close to Ibrox exit
Sky Sports pundit Richard Foster has been raving about Jordan Jones after the winger seemingly saved his career at Rangers by playing his way back into Steven Gerrard’s plans.
Jones, 25, made his first start for the Light Blues in over a year on Sunday when he scored in the 5-1 win away at Motherwell.
The Northern Ireland winger recently been linked with a move to Preston, with the Scottish Sun reporting that he could be used in a player-plus-cash deal to bring midfielder Daniel Johnson to Ibrox.

However it does not appear as though Jones will be leaving any time after a superb display at Fir Park.
Foster now claims that the former Kilmarnock star could strike fear into defenders across Scotland with his pace.
“You have to give Jordan a lot of credit as at the start of lockdown it looked like he was on his way out of Rangers,” the ex-Gers player told Sky Sports, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“He has obviously shown Steven Gerrard in training that he is ready for his chance and against Motherwell he took that chance.

“He has great pace and he added a nice composed finish at the end of it and it will do him the world of good.
“He is so direct and a lot of teams don’t have a lot of pace at the back, especially in the central areas, so with him and Ryan Kent playing in that narrow position they will cause problems.
“You saw him one on one with Ricki Lamie and there was no way to deal with him unless you drop off ten yards and give yourself space.
“With his blistering pace, he can be a massive asset to Rangers.”

Everyone who follows Scottish football will know what Jones is able to offer Rangers if he is able to play every week but the fact of the matter is that simply hasn’t been able since his move to Ibrox last year.
Jones tore up the Scottish Premiership at times with Killie but injuries and competition for places last season meant that his chances were few and far between.
But, on days like Sunday, Jones managed to get a rare opportunity to impress Gerrard by starting a league fixture and boy, did he impress.
We don’t think Gerrard will start Jones against Galatasaray on Thursday night in the Europa League but there’s a strong chance he will be involved to some degree against Ross County at the weekend.
If he keeps impressing in matches like that and a space opens up for him in the starting line-up then Jones could start the Old Firm next month.
In other Rangers news, Alex McLeish claims this Gers-linked ace is “like Andros Townsend”.
