‘On fire’, ‘phenomenal’ – Some Rangers fans react to ‘amazing’ display from one player v M’well
James Tavernier has really impressed the Rangers fans as his side brushed aside Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers won 5-1, with Tavernier scoring two penalties either side of an excellent Jordan Jones finish, before Cedric Itten came on off the bench and scored his first Rangers goals with two late efforts. George Edmundson accidentally sent the ball into his own net late on.
Tavernier was also relentless in applying pressure down the right-wing, winning the ball back high up the pitch and causing all kinds of problems for the Motherwell defenders.
The Gers captain has started this season in sensational form, being part of the Gers’ record-breaking defence, keeping seven clean sheets in their first seven league games, as well as contributing with his outrageous goal scoring record.
Tavernier scored goal number 50 for the Light Blues in mid-week and added 51 and 52 this afternoon. Most strikers would be pleased with a record of six goals in six games, but for a right back to do it is simply sensational.
Rangers have returned to winning ways following their draw away at Hibernian last week, and sit comfortably on top of the Scottish Premiership, with Celtic to play later today and with a game in hand.
Some Gers fans praised the penalty taking ability of the 28-year-old, while others praised his work rate.

Tavernier will be looking to continue his red hot form when Rangers take on Galatasaray in the Europa League next week, as the Gers look to advance in Europe once again.
