‘Takes us to another level’ – Scott Arfield blown away by ‘frightening’ Rangers teammate
Scott Arfield has been waxing lyrical over in-form Rangers teammate Ryan Kent.
The winger has hit five goals and five assists over the course of his first nine outings this season.
And Canada international Arfield has singled him out as the man to replicate at Ibrox this term.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun, he said: “Last season Ryan Kent’s numbers didn’t reflect his ability. But this season he is flying with the goals and assists he is getting.
“We would have scored so many more goals last season if we’d taken the chances Ryan created.
“The boy is on fire and his confidence is high. When he plays well he takes us to another level.
“It is a pleasure to play with him as he is making the right decisions at the right times. His pace is frightening, and he is now adding goals to his game as well. “
How good has Kent been this season?
In a word, sensational.
The winger has been the standout man for the Gers this term, and he has consistently been the brightest light in a campaign that has already shone pretty dazzlingly for Steven Gerrard’s men.
To contextualise where he is at right now, Kent’s dribble success rate is higher than Jadon Sancho’s, his shot accuracy has been higher than Marcus Rasford’s, and his pass accuracy has been higher than Raheem Sterling’s as per Wyscout.
That’s certainly some elite company to be keeping, and it’s a marker of just how far Kent’s star has risen.
We’ve got a feeling that he hasn’t stopped yet either.
