‘Absolutely’ – BBC pundit says this one Rangers player would get in Celtic XI

In-form Rangers star Ryan Kent would get into the Celtic starting line-up, according to BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus.

Kent, 23, has scored five goals and supplied five assists in nine appearances across all competitions for the Light Blues so far this season.

No player has scored more goals than him in the Scottish Premiership [BBC Sport] but that hasn’t stopped a football fan from claiming that the Ibrox ace wouldn’t get into Neil Lennon’s starting line-up at Parkhead.

Ex-Hibernian striker McManus challenged that claim based on the attacker’s form this season.

PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show host Peter Martin read out a comment by someone who claimed that Kent is “Rangers’ best player but he wouldn’t get in the Celtic team”.

McManus disagreed by saying: “I think he would. Absolutely.”

Kent has been easily Rangers’ best player this season with him featuring on both wings and as a central attacking midfielder for Steven Gerrard.

The former Liverpool player’s form is better than the likes of Ryan Christie at the moment, even though admittedly, he is playing well for Celtic too.

Kent is the best player in Scottish football at the moment and we can’t wait to see how he performs when the Old Firm derby takes place at Parkhead next month.

As good as it is to see Kent perform so well against the likes of Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Hibernian and Willem II, we want to see him stand-out against Celtic.

He’s done that already for the Light Blues but we want to see him do it on a regular basis.
