‘Shocking’ – Many Rangers fans destroy player who looks ‘completely off it’ at HT v Willem II
Steven Gerrard decided to make only one change to his Rangers side on Thursday as they took on Willem II in the Europa League qualifiers.
The only change was Allan McGregor coming in for Jon McLaughlin for the Bears, who drew 2-2 at Hibernian last time out.
It was a cagey affair at Easter Road, with Borna Barisic being torn apart for his poor performance at left-back.
It was the first two goals the Gers had conceded all season, but they both came down the left-hand side of Barisic in defence.
On both occasions, the Croatian let men in behind him to deliver crosses that were dispatched by the Hibs attackers.
Thursday’s clash at Willem II didn’t start any better, with Barisic being booked within the first five minutes for dragging down his man after being beaten.
Willem started much better against the Gers, and also hit the bar, although there was nothing Barisic could have done about that one.
The 27-year-old needs to improve and quickly, with the patience of many running out around the Ibrox faithful.
Many Rangers fans have reacted to the first-half performance of Barisic in Holland, and they destroyed him for the poor showing.
The majority pointed out that he looked short on confidence in recent games, but he was bailed out through goals from James Tavernier and Ryan Kent.
