Report - National paper issue update on mooted Rangers pursuit for 20-goal hitman
Rangers are not interested in signing Rapid Vienna striker Taxiarchis Fountas, according to the Scottish Sun.
An initial report from Austria had suggested that the Gers were keeping tabs on the 25-year-old ahead of a potential swoop in the latter stages of the transfer window.
A fee of around £5 million was mooted for the Greece international.
But The Sun have since issued their own report on the matter, claiming that Fountas is not on the radar of Ibrox chiefs.
The article seemingly suggests that Steven Gerrard is happy with his current attacking options, having already brought in Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten this summer.
Fountas hit 20 goals in 29 outings in Austria last term, and has already struck five times this term.

What should we make of this report?
At the present moment in time, it feels like it would be a bit ridiculous for Rangers to move for another striker.
They already have four obvious senior options, and with two of those coming a matter of weeks ago, it would be bizarre if the Gers were still on the hunt for a new striker.
There is, of course, one caveat to that, and as with most things at Ibrox, it involves Alfredo Morelos.
According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Lille have returned with a bid of around £18.3 million for El Bufalo, with no indication just yet on whether or not the Gers will choose to sell.
If they do, however, that could be the spark that lights the fuse that forces them to make a move for a player like Fountas.
