Rangers players snub Hibernian ace at FT in draw, Gerrard shared words – Journalist

Rangers slipped up on Sunday afternoon as they drew 2-2 against Hibernian at Easter Road.

The game was full of controversy, as the Gers conceded their first two goals of the season either side of strikes by Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield.

Steven Gerrard’s men were on their way to a scrappy three points on the road, but Christian Doidge’s header secured a point.

Hibs defender Ryan Porteous caused a stir at the end of the clash, claiming that he labelled James Tavernier a “bad loser.”

The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell shared on his personal Twitter account that Tavernier, Morelos and Gerrard all snubbed the defender after the game.

Campbell even went as far as to claim that the Gers boss shared words with Porteous after his attempted handshake was not taken.

“Porteous not popular with Rangers. Morelos, Tavernier and Gerrard all refusing to acknowledge him on the way into the dressing room,” he wrote.

“A few words had between the latter two.”

Porteous was involved in a number of controversial challenges, and that was part of the reason why Rangers weren’t happy with the defender.

Gerrard commented on his snub after the game and referenced a separate incident from the same clash last season.

“I didn’t see the (Porteous) incident initially,” he told the Glasgow Evening Times.

“I think Porteous was saying that Tav’s a bad loser, which I think is a bit cheap coming from him. He got sent off for a really bad tackle when he was losing 3-0 against us here last season.”

The game has gone and so has this incident, and Rangers possibly need to get less emotionally involved as other clubs will start giving them the same treatment.
