‘Like a pub player’, ‘Rotten’ – These Rangers fans savage one player after 2-2 v Hibs
Rangers fans have blasted Connor Goldson, following his side’s 2-2 draw against Hibernian on Sunday.
Goldson, 27, played the ball straight to Hib’s Joe Newell on the edge of his own box in the build up for the home side’s second goal, with some fans suggesting he should have just cleared the ball up field.
It was a day to forget for the Gers defence as they conceded goals for the first time this season, following seven straight clean sheets in the league.
Drey Wright was left unmarked in the Rangers box to fire home Hibernian’s first, before goals either side of half-time by Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield put the Gers back in the driving seat.
Goldson’s wayward pass then denied Steven Gerrard’s side all three points at Easter Road, with Hibernian’s equaliser standing, despite replays showing that Martin Boyle should have been flagged offside in the build up.
The English defender has played every minute for the Gers in the league this season, helping them break a 91-year-old defensive record.
But his mistake was not one you would expect a seasoned centre back with over 70 Rangers appearances to make.
While every player in Gerrard’s side played a part in Sunday’s draw, it was Connor Goldson who was singled out by Rangers fans on social media.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

The result did take Rangers back to the top of the Scottish Premiership, but the Gers can be overtaken by Celtic if they win their game in hand.
The draw against Hibs will be seen as a missed opportunity by Rangers, but they can look to put it right when they take on Motherwell this weekend.
