‘Pathetic’, ‘All over the shop’ – Many Rangers fans destroy one ‘Shambolic’ player at HT v Hibs
Rangers fans have blasted Borna Barisic for his role in Hibernian’s goal against the Light Blues at Easter Road on Sunday afternoon.
Barisic, 27, was slow to close down Hibs winger Martin Boyle before he was able to cross the ball in for Drey Wright to score.
It was the first goal that Rangers have conceded in the Scottish Premiership since March and based on the reaction of the fans on Twitter, it was completely avoidable.
Barisic is very-much an attack-minded left-back – his stats of one goal and five assists in eight matches before the trip to Edinburgh backs that up easily.
But a left-back with 13 caps for Croatia, over 70 appearances for Rangers and who’s 27-years-old should be able to close down a winger a lot better than he did in the build up to that goal.
We’re not saying that the blame should be completely on Barisic’s shoulders for that goal because the centre-halves didn’t cover themselves in glory either.
But there’s no denying that he’s the man who many Rangers fans have singled out on social media, with one saying that he was “all over the shop” in the first half.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

It’s only half time but Rangers have a lot to work on if they want to get anything out of this match.
Seeing us concede a goal for the first time this season was disappointing but it was going to happen at some point – it’s just annoying that it wasn’t an unavoidable wondergoal and instead could’ve been dealt with a lot better.
Barisic will know he messed up but let’s hope he can use his brilliant attacking attributes to get the Gers back in the game.
In other Rangers news, this free agent has headed to Auchenhowie ahead of potentially signing for the Light Blues.
