Confirmed Rangers team news: Five changes as Roofe misses out completely v Hibernian

Rangers have made a number of changes to their side ahead of their clash with Hibernian on Sunday afternoon.

Steven Gerrard has made five changes, bringing back the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos in the final third.

As confirmed on their Twitter account prior to kick-off, Kemar Roofe has missed out completely, with not even a spot on the bench.

The Gers go into the clash against Hibs on the back of an important Europa League victory over Lincoln Red Imps on Thursday.

There were a number of doubts, with Roofe having limped off towards the end of the first-half in Gibraltar.

It’s an injury that has haunted Roofe throughout his career and has kept him out for long spells at both Leeds and Anderlecht.

Having Morelos on the bench on Thursday obviously made Rangers significantly stronger, and he came off to score twice.

Those two goals could kickstart his season after a slow start, and it could also help him forget about transfer links – a goal at Easter Road would be perfect.

After Celtic limped to a 3-2 victory against Livingston on Saturday, they went ahead of the Light Blues on goal difference, and they will now be desperate to create that gap once again.

Their nearest rivals aren’t blowing teams away, and if Gerrard’s men can keep yet another clean sheet on Sunday, they should improve their goal different easily.
