‘All day long’ – Kris Boyd angered with officials after incident in Rangers draw v Hibs

Kris Boyd has claimed Hibernian captain Paul Hanlon should have been sent off for his elbow on Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi.

The Gers initially came from behind at Easter Road but threw it away for a point, although Boyd believes it should have been made much easier for the away side.

Goals from Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield completed the turnaround, but Christian Doidge’s header saw the points shared.

The Sky Sports pundit claimed that Hagi was away from the defender and that it was a sending off “all day long.”

“This one’s a red card for me though,” he said on Sky Sports.

“This one’s worst for me, his hands up, you can see there – Hagi’s away from him, bang, take that right in the face.

“That one there is a red card for me, all day long.”

It was certainly a naughty challenge from the Hibs skipper, who was lucky to get away with just a booking for the altercation.

The truth is, Hibernian frequently tried to disrupt the Gers, putting in poor challenges and trying to earn a reaction and most of the time, it did work.

It finished 2-2, a disappointing result but it at least saw Gerrard’s men return to the top of the table ahead of Celtic for now.
