Exclusive: Chris Doyle suggests Rangers may not have revealed full extent of interest in Morelos
Ibrox News recently conducted an exclusive interview with Glasgow Live journalist Chris Doyle to get his views on some of the biggest talking points involving Rangers right now…
Glasgow Live journalist Chris Doyle has suggested that Rangers have not revealed the full extent of the interest they have received in striker Alfredo Morelos over recent transfer windows.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the reliable reporter claimed that the Gers were likely to have received concrete offers for the Colombian in January, but made a conscious effort to keep things under wraps.
Morelos has been linked with an exit again this summer, with Lille reportedly emerging as the most likely destination for the 24-year-old.
And Doyle believes that speculation involving the French club is the just the tip of the iceberg.
Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “I do think Rangers keep things close to their chest in case of the bids that come in.
“I think that’s smart in the sense that they just let speculation grow and grow. I don’t think they want to give much away.
“I fully believe there have been bids that have landed. They’ve obviously been knocked back, but I don’t think they’ve even been revealed to the media.
“I think that would have been the case last January when he did have that amazing spell. Obviously, Rangers were going into the break leading the way in the title race after that win at Parkhead in December. I think bids will have come in, but they were in a difficult spot because they were in a good position to win the title and they couldn’t have sold their best player.
“They might be looking back now and thinking that they wish they did sell him.”
Morelos has featured five Scottish Premiership games for the Gers so far this season, scoring twice.
