Ibrox Exclusive: Bruce claims reported Rangers target Fox is a ‘really decent little player’
We’re delighted to welcome former Scottish Premiership defender Alex Bruce as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers…
Alex Bruce has claimed that reported Rangers target Morgan Fox is a “really decent little player”.
Speaking to Ibrox News, the former Kilmarnock defender praised the Sheffield Wednesday full-back and suggested that he could be a useful asset for Steven Gerrard’s men as they looked to rebuild their squad this summer.
TEAMtalk reported last month that the Gers are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, who is out of contract with the Owls this summer.
And Bruce has welcomed the idea of a potential move, as well as outlining the precarious situation facing players who are coming to the end of their deals amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “He [Steven Gerrard] needs to strengthen that area, and I’d imagine without having unlimited funds with everything that’s going on, he might not be a bad one for back up.
“Whenever I’ve seen him play, he’s looked like a really decent little player.
“I think players will be nervous about running out of contract. Ten years ago, to be on a Bosman was something that we all licked our lips.
“I think that more than ever there are going to be players who are out of contract and struggle to get fixed up because of everything that’s happened.”
Fox has been a regular feature for Wednesday so far this season making 31 appearances in all competitions, registering three goals and an assist in the process.
He joined the Championship out fit from Charlton Athletic in 2017 for a fee of around £740,000.
