Rangers star posts emotional message for fans after Ibrox exit confirmed
Wes Foderingham has posted an emotional goodbye to Rangers fans on Instagram after playing his last game for the club.
The 29-year-old keeper was one of the six players who had their Ibrox exits confirmed after news of the Premiership ending early dropped on Monday.
Foderingham posted a highlight reel of some of his best moments in a Ranger shirt and it contains some pretty phenomenal saves.
Foderingham posted, “An incredible journey and an unforgettable 5 years, but now is the time to move on. All the best in the future. Once a Ger always a Ger.”
We have to admit to getting a little bit emotional at watching the video and reading the message and if there’s way to leave a club, this is it.
Fans responded on Instagram and one summed it up the best when he said, “All the best Wes you never let the gers down. You have been a great servant thank you.”
It’s never easy being a stand-in keeper behind someone as reliable as Allan Mcgregor.
However, McGregor is 38 now and with Foderingham and Alnwick gone, one of Steven Gerrard’s most pressing jobs over the summer will be signing a solid new keeper.
Ibrox News columnist Alex Bruce said Foderingham was “wasted” at Rangers and while we don’t think being in the first-team squad at Ibrox is ever a waste, we understand what he’s saying.
Foderingham deserves the chance to be the number one keeper somewhere and we think he could do a decent job in the Championship in England.
We wish him all the best in the rest of his career.
