Ibrox View: Rangers leaving no stone unturned as talkSPORT man details size of SPFL dossier
It’s a big day for Rangers today as they’ve finally submitted their dossier of evidence against the SPFL.
That’s been delayed once already but according to talkSPORT broadcaster David Tanner, the dossier has now been sent on to the rest of the SPFL clubs in a bid to get an independent investigation launched.
Posting on his Twitter account, Tanner said, “Rangers believe that there are serious legal questions to be answered by officials. The document runs to over 200 pages of evidence”.
He added that the SPFL are still insisting they have done nothing wrong.
The battle lines have been drawn and today is the day that the world will get to judge who is in the right.
It’s pretty easy to see that the SPFL acted in a really haphazard way in the vote over ending the seasons from the Championship down.
That much is above refute.
However, Rangers have gone much further and want to see the suspension of SPFL chief Neil Doncaster and legal advisor Rod McKenzie.
That will take some detailed evidence and at over 200 pages long, it seems that Rangers are determined to leave no stone unturned.
The battle with the SPFL has been going on for some time and this is Rangers’ opportunity to show that it’s not just a grudge against the governing body.
There’s a risk it could backfire but Rangers are obviously convinced that the SPFL has a case to answer here. 200 pages suggest they could be right.
We fully expect the SPFL to refute what’s in the dossier but independent experts and views from other clubs will be the opinions we’ll be looking for later today.
Either way, though, it’s a sad indictment of the Scottish game that it’s come to this playing out in public.
