Charlie Nicholas claims he is ‘sick to death’ of waiting for Rangers to release SPFL dossier

Charlie Nicholas has claimed that he is “sick to death” of waiting for Rangers to release their dossier of evidence against the SPFL.

The Gers are currently in the midst of a protracted war of words with the governing body over their handling of the vote that brought the Scottish lower league season to an immediate end last month.

The Scottish Sun have since reported that plans to release the folder of information the club claim to have against the organisation have been pushed back until later in the week, despite an initial understanding that it would be made public on Tuesday.

And Nicholas has admitted that his patience is wearing thin with the Ibrox giants.

Speaking to The Express, as per the Daily Record, he said: “The season can’t be called until Rangers show their evidence.

“If it is strong enough it will cause carnage but if not then it will be batted away and then I believe the season will be called like it has been in the lower leagues and Celtic will be named as champions.

“Scottish football is totally collapsing, just at a time when we are heading towards ‘Project Restart’ in England.

“We are sick to death of waiting to see what evidence Rangers have.”

Does Nicholas have a point here?

At this stage, it does seem a little strange that the Gers are delaying the release of the dossier of evidence they have amassed against the SPFL.

With a historic EGM planned for May 12th to decide on whether or not an independent probe will be launched against the governing body, you would assume that the club would be willing to allow their peers to properly deliberate over the relevant information before making a choice on the matter.

Clearly, Ibrox chiefs have their reasons for postponing the release, but at this stage, it’s not abundantly obvious as to what they may be.

Only time will tell, and it would be a shock if we don’t see the dossier at some point over the next couple of days, but as the countdown continues to that historic meeting next week, the Gers could do with all the allies they can make right now.

Transparency would go a long way to getting people on side.
