‘Crazy’ – Ronald de Boer reacts to reported PL interest in Rangers talent

Alfredo Morelos would thrive in the Premier League, according to former Rangers favourite Ronald de Boer.

The Colombian has long since been at the centre of the speculation surrounding his future at Ibrox, with a recent report from The Sun claiming that both Leicester City and West Ham are keen on acquiring him this summer.

And de Boer believes that the 23-year-old has what it takes to be a real success in the English top flight.

Speaking on talkSPORT, as per the Daily Record, he said: “I think he would do well in the Premier League because he’s a fighter.

“He is a bit crazy – there are not so many strikers who get so many red cards, but he’s a great player.

“He loves his goals, he’s a predator. I think he’s been a great signing for Rangers.

“He can do well and I can understand [why] the clubs of the Premier League are interested in him.”

What can we take from this?

It’s interesting, because usually when pundits talk about Morelos’ chances of being a success in England, they pick out his temperament as a potential stumbling block for him, but here, it would appear that de Boer believes it could be an asset.

And if that flaw in his game is taken out of the equation, then it’s hard to see where else Morelos would falter in England.

Sure, his form has stuttered of late, but there’s no denying how lethal he can be, and with a goal every 112 minutes so far this term, as per Transfermarkt, he has outperformed the likes of Harry Kane, Mo Salah, and Jamie Vardy.

De Boer’s sentiments have been echoed by Ibrox News pundit Alex Bruce, and while none of us want to see him leave, if he were to, you would back Morelos to make a success of himself south of the border.
